EXAMPLE OF ART FOR SIGN LANGUAGE

Sign for Bee

This motion is captured in 3 photos to show one sign for "bee" in American Sign Language,
You can find similar photos for sign language of common English words at www.lifeprint.com

While watching a sign language Bible, what can a person do if he or she does not know a sign?  In the future, perhaps clicking on the unknown sign will take the viewer to a picture with a caption in the language of the country, such as these "bee" photos. An explanation in sign language could be added.

Voice would be added to improve interepreter training. Childfen of Deaf people need to hear the spoken language of the coungry paired with the printed word also. I hope you are getting the idea and thinking of ways to improve the process of presenting the Bible to Deaf people who in most foreign countries do not get an education. Let the Deaf meet the Savior with words, pictures, signs and a Bible in their own language on video in sign language and in print in the language of their country.

My prayer is that during the video if the person watching doesn't know the meaning of a sign, clicking on it will link to a definition in sign language and in the written language of a country. Visual aids such as pictures, maps, charts, family lines and computer animations of action verbs, events or battles would be helpful, too. Please support JAARS

JAARS, a division of Wycliffe Bible Translators, is developing computer code to enable the Bible to be translated into the sign languages of the world. Perhaps one day soon Deaf people will be able to see (read) the Bible in their own sign language on video on the Internet or on DVD.

Pray for the provision of funding, personnel, creative insight and wisdom, as a team of computer software specialists develop tools to help record sign languaegs into Bible translations. Please pray for the development of software to support the specialized needs of liguistic and translation work in deaf sign languages.

Perhaps your photo, art work or computer animated version of something or some event in the Bible will make the meaning clear to a person who is new to learning from the Bible. Trying to present the Bible words, verses, concepts and stories in a visual way will enhance your own understanding of the Word of God. Put those visual representations with the sign languages of the world and we will have a good resource for many people to use

We are in the process of creating captioned pictures for the Bible, and need any and all art that could be donated for this website.

This website is dedicated to the hearing impaired persons of the world, and our hope is that it will be useful in assisting people to learn signing, as well as the Bible and language. We feel that there is a great need for this, and would appreciate any links that may be useful in promoting signing aids.
